Went on a bus tour of Dubai yesterday. Pretty Expensive. Dubai is bigger than we imagined - very long rather than wide. Saw the main beach and Burj al Arab and back over the Palm and through the city on Sheikh Zayed Road (which is the biggest road ive ever seen about 7 lanes either way), went through the old soak and gold soak were we got off to have a look. No rings bought (yet - Jean).
Also saw spice soak, Dubai creek and Deira City Centre. Got off at Sheikh Rashid al Maktoums old house as well. Alright "gaff" lots of photos - not quite Disneyland though! Fancy getting myself one of those big daggers across my chest but they would only sell me the holder. Taking a real shine to the traditional Arab dress for men as well- the dishdash. Think I would look good in a white robe - Anna thinks it would suit my skin colour!

Anyway, ended up at another Mall for an early dinner - this place is full of huge malls! Managed to catch the Liverpool match at the hotel bar which is cool. They were a bit lucky at the end to win.

Ended up on the hotels amazing roof terrace which has great views (see pictures). Having a more relaxing day today on roof terrace before meeting Kat again for dinner tonight. Really good knowing someone who lives here and knows where to go!

Starting to get a feel for the place now. It does feel alien at times but what they have done here is amazing.
Just trying to sort out a desert safari ....
