Reflections on Singapore .....

We both really enjoyed Singapore and would love to go back. The people are the friendliest we have ever met - always willing to help - if they see you struggling or lost they will approach you and help you. The hotel was fine, it is a walkable city with plenty to like (lots of shopping, gardens, bars and restaurants, Sensota island etc).

It is very anglicised in the main city and feels a home from home (only warmer and friendlier!). We both felt incredibly safe there - walking at night, no problem. The natives are very efficient and clearly proud of the city and they should be. We kind of regarded Singapore as a stepping stone to Australia but I would recommend anyone spending at least 3 nights here.

We didn't get to see the botanic gardens or a lot of Sensota island or much of little India or Chinatown so we will definitely be back .... should also be a Bill and Jean approved destination.
