With no set plans for the day Heather and I took our time getting up and ready. We thought it would be nice to take a walk around Point Cartwright so headed down there around 11am.
It's been soooo long since I have walked on the sand or dipped my toes in the ocean so this was just the perfect way to start the holiday - mind you once we get to Ireland and Italy it will be cold so no long walks on the beach there that's for sure!
I can't believe in all the years I lived on the Sunshine Coast I had never done the walk around Point Cartwright - it's just gorgeous.
After the walk we were a little hot and getting hungry so we headed into the Plaza for a yummy kebab - again something I haven't had for ages because there isn't a kebab shop in Longreach, which is probably a good thing because we you know "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and all that so when I do have one it's a real treat.... yes I know, it's a bit weird to think of a kebab as a treat but hey it is for me!!
We did a bit of shopping, not too much though cos my backpack is already full enough and then went up to Buderim to meet my fabulous friend Lyn for a cuppa and chat. It's always lovely to catch up and never happens often enough for my liking - usually when I'm on the coast it's a really quick visit so I hardly have time to do anything!
Dinner was Tacos at home with all my kids, kids in law and granddaughters - once again - I don't get to see them all often enough so time spent with them is a treat.
Tomorrow the journey begins.
