No big rush to get going today, we've only got to be back in Sydney to drop the car off by 5pm and it's just under a 3 hour drive. Once we were ready to go with the car all packed up we drove up to Ross and Wendys caravan and to our surprise she had breakfast all ready to cook for us. So an hour later all filled up with yummy eggs and tomato on toast, bacon added for Rodd, we said our goodbyes promising to keep in touch.

We had a fairly leisurely drive with no major issues to speak of and a quick stop in Katoomba for bite to eat and some coffee. You gotta love google maps, I entered the Stamford Plaza, O'Riordan Street, Mascot in to my phone and it took us straight there!! This place is just across the road from the Domestic terminal entrance so we decided we should drop off our luggage before taking the car back.... which we did.. then it was about a ten minute walk back to the motel.

By the time we got back it was about 1.30pm so we decided to order some food from room service, always an expensive exercise but we didn't have the energy at this stage to find anything else.

Rodd wanted to chill for awhile so I went for a walk and discovered there really isn't too much around this area.. I walked a couple of blocks up to Botany Road where there are some shops but nothing I'd make a special trip for, it's not really a "touristy" area. Nevertheless I was rather parched after my long 2 block walk so popped into the first pub I saw and had a quick vodka/soda.... ahhh yes that's better. Back to the Motel and Rodd was ready to head out for one last hoorah in Sydney. We got a taxi to take us to Erskineville where we had a few drinks in the pub but decided not to have dinner there so continued walking, we ended up in Newtown which is a really nice area that I've never been before. There was lots of great pubs, restaurants and live music, also discovered a pub with pinball machines which was a lot of fun so all in all we had a great night going from place to place... somewhere along the way we had dinner upstairs in a funky little restaurant.

A few too many drinks and we made the stupid decision to catch a taxi to the casino, which cost an arm and a leg, and when we got there we had no luck at all so didn't stay more than about half and hour.... and another expensive taxi ride back out to the airport later we fell into bed just after midnight............ our flight out to the Sunshine Coast leaves at 10am sharp!! I think I'm having "too much fun"!!
