I had a great nights sleep, I think I was asleep the minute my head hit the pillow - Rodd however got next to nothing. Apparently I was snoring pretty loudly (as I'm told I do after a few) and there was an extremely loud party going on in the room next door....or so Rodd tells me, I didn't hear a thing!!
We had planned with Jeanne to go and visit both her daughters at work today. She rang as she left home so we could work out where to meet so she wouldn't have to try to find a park - easily done and soon we were on our way to see Jesse at the LVMPD where she is a detective. Jesse was busy with an interview when we arrived so Jeanne drove us down to the Gold and Silver pawn shop where the Foxtel show is filmed. We watch this at home so Rodd really wanted to go have a look, of course none of the stars of the show were there but we're glad we went anyway. It doesn't cost anything and is something a bit different to bright neon and casinos....Rodd did buy a T-Shirt so our bags are fuller and heavier already cos I've bought a few tops and shot glasses to add to my collection!
Back to the LVMPD where Jesse gave us a tour of the police station which was very interesting and we got to meet some of the people she works with. Rodd even gave them some Vegemite and a little koala!
From there we headed to NYNY as I had yet another reward from myVegas for an all day scream pass for one on the roller coaster... Unfortunately I don't think I took a pic of this. First we had to go to the Mlife desk to get it loaded on to the card then a long walk to the rollercoaster where there was a really long line with about a 45 min wait but you know me and upgrades!! With the comped voucher we got to go to the head of the queue so off Rodd and Jeanne went - crazy people! I offered to mind the bags! They loved the ride and Jeanne was glad to finally have someone that would do it with her!
Its now after one and we really haven't even had breakfast yet so I was feeling a little queasy. Now we're headed to Hard Rock Casino where Kaylan works in one of the bars. This casino, like the cafes, is full of music memorabilia and really worth going to just for a look, I wish now I'd taken heaps more pics of it all. We had a lovely lunch and Kay managed to chat to us a little in between running around madly working. She really is the most gorgeous person, not surprising knowing her Mum and Dad!
Jeanne dropped us back at the D, saying goodbye til when or if we ever come back.... We've been trying to talk them into coming to Australia so maybe..... Who knows? It was probably 4 by now so past our nanny nap time but we had a little one anyway. I hate to say it but this trip has been a bit slower than the previous ones, maybe age is catching up and slowing us down!
I was determined to have a relatively early night and not drink too much as we will be travelling all day tomorrow to New York City so when we woke up we headed down to the Container Park. This was on my list last trip as it was newly opened then so I was determined to get there this time and I'm so glad we did. It's just past El Cortez on Fremont and is literally an open mall made with shipping containers. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars and a huge kids playground in the centre. When we got there there was a fantastic band called 80's Station playing so we pulled up a seat, bought an apple cider each and settled in for a couple hours of good old fashioned fun and entertainment.
The only other thing we did was have dinner at Tony Roma's in The Fremont Casino. Rodd had an appetiser plate with ribs and things and I got a bowl of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and I was a little bit naughty and also had some mozzarella sticks! We only had one drink each here so with the ciders (which we actually had 2 of each) not much at all for the night! We were in bed just before midnight so I was very pleased.... I'd vowed not to do what we did last trip. Of course I blame Heather and Tim but we stayed up all night drinking and playing blackjack so we were a very sorry bunch headed to the airport that morning! It was a pretty awesome night though.

Debra That building is reminiscent of the paper bag building in Sydney. Funny as I usually am a fan of the old but those crazy shaped buildings just really appeal to me. Love it! As for your freebies, discounts and upgrades etc, you are amazing, though Rodd and Jeanne can have the crazy rides to themselves!
Jeanne It was great fun seeing you again!!!
