Helloooo!
We spent two days, one night in Bangkok after Chiang Mai.. which we were sad to leave! We slept most of the day after the night bus journey then we headed out onto the Khao San Road and did some shopping! Didnt go too mad but did buy a new bikini and a top.. its so cheap it would be rude not to! Had a few beers that night, met some german guys on thier holidays, they kept us entertained by eating bugs! yum. Left the next day about 7pm.... so had most of the day to kill in Bangkok... riots were starting up but we were out of it before it flared up, phew! Did see a tiny dog in dungerees while waiting for the bus! honestly they put them in anything over here! Sleeper bus to Surat Thani (the port) was yet again, not a sleeper bus! so umcomfortable! Went quite quickly though so i must have slept... 2 more buses and a boat later we arrived on Ko Phagnan... had our accomodation booked (we ended up booking a package in Bangkok)... oh..first was the visa situation.. we assumed we had 30 days in Thailand which is what you get- if you fly into thailand, if you come overland you only get 15 days.. we notcied luckily that we'd only been stamped in til 8th April (having arrived 25th march) so we asked at a travel agent in Bangkok and she told us this information.. we were told we can extend it but only by a week and it costs 2000 baht which is about 40 squid! and that we can do it on ko samui so thats what we did but it meant we didnt have time to go to ko tao which was a shame but it gives me a reason to come back!.... so ... we booked 5 nights in ko phagnan and 6 nights in ko samui.. ko phagnan was so much fun, its the party island of the full moon party though we missed it. we did go to Half Moon though which was pretty fun! we partied for 4 nights and had so much fun we stayed another night but because our visa was expiring we still had to go to ko samui to extend it so we spent a few hours on samui then headed back to phagnan for another night! We were staying in a resort which was really nice but the food was so expensive so we pretty much always ate at a cheap little shack down the road! beach was lovely but we stayed by the pool mostly, working off our hangovers! We really did'nt want to leave but sadly we couldnt change what was already booked. Next stop Ko Samui....
