Happy to see much nicer weather today. We took a very long hike through the mountains, seeing beautiful views of valleys and rice terraces. In the morning we hiked thru village of Black Hmong and thru village of Red Dao in the afternoon. Spent time talking and walking with tribal people and they tried to sell us their crafts. Back to Hanoi at night on the Victoria Express.

Arrived in Lao Cai to somewhat typical raw, misty weather. Drove a few hours to the market in the village of Coc Ly. Saw tribal people at the Tuesday market, Pho, selling wares, selling water buffalo, socializing.
