Day 9 - Tuesday 9th April 2013 (Travelled 30 kms)
Not a long drive today, we found a most perfect spot to set up camp for two nights at Speed's Point. It's $5 per person per night courtesy of the local council. We unhooked the vans and headed towards Streaky Bay taking in the Westall Loop drive, the coastal scenery at its best. We visited Fisherman's Paradise, Smooth Pool and The Granites, all very rocky outcrops and interesting in their own unique ways. We arrived in Streaky Bay for some groceries, fuel and laundry catch ups. A lovely lunch at the community owned Pub and you canunderstand why this town would be a holiday destination for many South Australians, a clean and tidy place, very peaceful. Unsuccessful fishing at Speeds Point, lots of rocks and heaps of kelp washed up on the beach, plenty of snags, although Ken was successful in catching a Banjo Shark (somewhat of a challenge to land him, the shark putting up a fight, but was then released back into the wild).
Our last night supper with Bill and Sally (Sally cooking up a batch of Spaghetti Bolognse, which was enjoyed all round). Thanks Sally and Bill for spending the past 9 days together, we didn't want then to go…..
We wish them a safe journey home.
Thanks to Anne for keeping tabs on our daily events. It makes the journals so much easier to put together. I hope you are all enjoying our combined efforts and will continue to follow us as we "flock around the block".

David Great adventure so far, brings back good memories, must head that way again- after some surf fishing lessons from Bill or his apprentices. Say hi to all David and Enid
David Fiona- can you post some photos of the rigs? David
Gary How are the intrepid travellers going? The blog is great. Did you know that when a group of skydivers don wing suits and build a formation in the sky, it is called flocking? So are you guys going to become flockers?
Margaret Stewart Roger and Margaret are loving all your entries and really wish we could be traveling with you. Looking forward to your next instalment. Hope you are all keeping well.
