Day 7 - Sunday 7th April 2013 (Travelled 187.5 kms)
We walked the Discovery track this morning to take in the sights of Point Donington and the lighthouse. The beach here is lovely and the bay is only small. The rock formations along most of this coast are varied and at times rugged as we attempted to navigate our way across them to get onto the track. A look at the lighthouse, a walk back to camp, breakfast and pack up saw us heading back out of the park and head towards Coffin Bay. Coffin Bay is world famous for its oysters. It was a sleepy little hollow not unlike some of our smaller Victorian fishing towns.
Our mission was to now find a spot on the foreshore for tonight and after visiting a couple of locations along the way we settled at Point Drummond. The beach here is pristine and the water is crystal clear. Our camping spot overlooks this bay, and although a tad windy it is a most delightful spot. The boys have sorted all the fishing gear, Ken discovering that he really doesn't have much for surf fishing so Billy has helped out with some gear and instruction on the fine art of surf fishing. Ralph decided with two boys and rods that there would be plenty of action for him to watch. Hi Ho Off to the beach they went! 10 mins later the first shout of glee - where's a bucket? Ken has caught a fish! A nice sized flathead for us all to share for entrée.

Ron Enjoying the journey and so pleased that Ken has landed the first of many. And Ken, I have one of those special fishermen's rulers to help show the "correct" length of your catch. Is that a tan you're starting to get Ken ?
