Today we are up early to pack as we are getting a boat to koh phi phi. The boat ticket was 300 baht each which is pretty reasonable. We went for a quick breakfast and then back to the hotel to pick up our bags. The lady we booked the tour with had organised a transfer to the pier included in the price. Once we got there we got on the boat. We put our rucksacks downstairs and took a seat. It was really hot and smelt of sewage so we went to sit on the top deck almost immediately. We waited for what seemed like forever for the boat to set off. Finally it did.
We arrived in Koh phi phi; hot, sweaty and stressed. We had to pay an entrance fee into the country of 20 baht each. Once we had walked down the pier there were loads of people who could organise hotels, tours, boats and flights. We told them we wanted the hotel to be under 1500 baht a night which is like £25. They showed us loads and they all looked s*** so we just tried exploring the island and find our own. The first hotel we stopped at was absoloutely horrific. It didn't have any windows or Tv an it was dark and dirty. We said no immediately and went to a travel agents in land. We told the women we wanted the best hotel on the island for 4 nights and she told us it would be 10000 baht altogether which is like £200. We said yes after seeing pictures and she arranged for someone to collect our bags and show us the way. We waited for twenty minutes and finally the bell boy came. He took us to the hotel and we checked in and where shown to our room.
It was horrific. The walls were lime green, burgundy curtains, red sheets, orange paintings on the wall, a fridge with 'Fish' print on it, no light in the room or the bathroom for that matter and no proper shower. There was also the key card power thing hanging off the wall.
We went back to reception and told them we wanted a refund as we had been misled and they started being rude to us telling us to get out. We went to our room, got our bags and set off back to get our money from the travel agent. We got there and got our money then looked for somewhere to stay, again. A English boy who was working in one of the restrauents recommended Kinnawe house and said it was a 2 minute walk. We thanked him and continued on to find the hotel. We soon found it and enquired how much it was per night. The lady said 700 baht a night and we happily agreed.
At this point we are quite hungry so we decided to get some food then check out the beach. We went to a restaurant called Cosmic as it was rammed out. The food was lovely and staff were friendly.
We set of to the beach after and went to a bar called 'stoned'. We saw people smoking weed so we asked at the bar and they sold joints for 400 baht.
We chilled for a while then headed back to the room.
