Today we were up early as we had booked a boat to take us to Krabi. We woke up at quarter to 9 and needed to be at the pier for 9 so didn't have time to get any breakfast. As we got to the pier I got a quick coffee and it was so strong and gross!! She used condensed milk in it and it tasted like s*** so I just threw it away. We boarded the boat and put out bags in the downstairs section then made our way to the top deck to relax for the journey. We were sat next to some Irish girls who were really nice and we had a massive chat!! It took ages to get to Krabi and everyone on the boat looked hurt!! Everyone was laying down and sleeping!! After about a hour and a half we arrived in Krabi pier. We waited to get our bags while people pushed and shoved. We went off the boat and to the front of the pier. There was a bus waiting for us to take us to Ao Nang. The bus driver asked us to pay an extra 150 baht so he would drop us at our hotel although once we were on he asked everyone where they were staying and they didn't have to pay extra. It took about 20 minutes and we were the second stop. Our hotel is called the Buri Tara resort. We booked online via agoda and the hotel was £21 a night an a 4 star.
Once we arrived we checked in and were shown to our room. It was amazing compared to kinnawe house so we were both really pleased. We chilled out for the day and took a walk down to the beach to check out what the shops were like. We were hungry as hasn't eaten all day and decided to stop for dinner at a thai restrauent located 4 minutes away. We sat down and got a fruit shake each. I got a peach one and it was amazing so we were really excited for the food. I ordered BBQ chicken with a special sauce. We got out food and started eating. After about 5 bites I had a really weird feeling in my mouth and spat out the bite of food I had and realised there was something stuck through my tongue! Immediately started panicking and looked in my iPhone camera and saw a really sharp thin chicken bone had sliced through my tongue horizontally and snapped in half.I was crying and went and showed the staff who didn't seem to care or want to do anything. I begged them to get me a hospital but they said there were none. Armin tried pulling the bone out and it hurt so much I couldn't stop screaming. I washed my mouth out about 4 times and went to go and get my bag from the table to find it had disappeared. Already historically crying I frantically asked everyone around the table if they had seen my bag. People were telling me to calm down and I could see one women looked genuinely worried and shocked. One of the waitresses asked us to pay for the bill which we refused as why should I when I have a f***ing bone through my tongue!! One of the waitresses then brought my bag out from the back of the restaurant ( not sure why it was there, perhaps they tried taking it). We went to the tourist police station as we had passed it on the way there. They were so unhelpful and wouldn't take me to a emergency room. They told us there was one near McDonald's and to get a tuk tuk there. We got on the first tuk tuk we saw (bear in mind I'm still hysterically crying and screaming with a bone through my tongue) as soon as we got there I got put straight onto a bed and was seen immediately. The doctor examined me and then gave me a local anaesthetic. It absolutely killed and I couldn't stop crying. He then pulled the bone out with tweezers and prescribed me antibiotics for the infection. He told us we needed to pay 2500 baht which is like £50. We didn't have the money on us as we weren't expecting it to happen so they drove us back to our hotel so we could get the money.
Once we had paid we chilled in the room for awhile and then after a few hours were hungry still and decided to go to McDonald's. I got a happy meal but I didn't eat much as was still shaken. We went back to the room and watched the movie channel till we fell asleep.
Most traumatic day so far without a doubt.
