So today we got up and breakfasted and checked out of our hotel and started our journey to Jasper making a few stops along the way.
The first stop was Bow Lake where we admired the view and took in the sites of the gift shop! From here we drove to Peyto Lake where we took the less beaten track to get a fab view of the lake away from all the tourists. As we were about to pose for a photo we heard a familiar sound and turned round to see a pika sitting on a rock and this time I manage to get a really good view! So after taking a few photos of the pika and the view we started to make our way back to the tourist viewing platform. We took a slightly longer route back as we accidentally made a wrong turn but it was all very scenic so we didn't mind.
From here we drove to Mistaya Canyon where we strolled down the hill (knowing that at some point we would have to stride back up it) to see the canyon, where the water was flowing so very fast that you'd stand no chance if you fell in, so I obviously stayed way back from the edge.
After making our way back to the car park we drove on to Colemans Creek where we had some lunch with the company of some very sociable and inquisitive ground squirrels.
Then after lunch we drove on to the Athabasca Glacier where we collected our crampons and joined our tour for our Glacier walk. This was so much fun and also informative. As we made our way up and back down the Glacier we watched the buses shipping people ackwards and forwards along the Glacier while we got to enjoy it by hiking across the middle.
I really enjoyed this walk and time seemed to go so quickly although I was pleased to get back to the bus to warm up as at points it got quite cold.
After the Glacier visit we made our way to Jasper where we were lucky enough to see not one but two bears on our journey - so very exciting!!!
So we finally made it to Jasper and had an even quicker turnaround than last night and we then went out to dinner where we seem to have lots of laughs before returning back to the hotel and heading to bed.
