Tried really hard in Osaka to find a famous Yakatori place. Alas it's really really hard to find things that you pre plan. Building numbers done by when place was built so even locals couldn't find it and to be honest no one in Osaka spoke English or understood when we showed them it written in Japanese. So we went to a lively place which was more Italian than Japanese. Really tasty chicken. Lemony BBQ sauce. Yum.

Only here for a day. Got to try these delicious street snacks. Takoyaki. Octopus balls. Took a while to convince the owner that I only wanted one as they seem to be sold in 6 and 8's :) Really enjoyed it :) The sauce was slightly tart. Like a soy mixed with Worcestershire sauce, and light mayonnaise. Had to look it up and found the sprinkles are something called green laver (aonori) and the shavings were dried fish. This is the place. Yes I'd avoid it :) As ed says hungers a great sauce and I really was hungry.

Still same place. Last dish. A safe one as we really were hungry. Beef potatoes onions and sauce. Meat was tasty as was sauce. They seem to double fry the potatoes and at the same time undercook them. They do rice and noodles way better than at home though so can't complain ;)

Same restaurant. Still trying for typical cuisine. Think we wanted Yakatori (delicious skewered japanese food). Alas we got this. Every bite was a taste sensation but not in the most positive way :) Still we were very hungry so ploughed on :) 1. Boiled egg, frankfurter and onion on one stick. Deep fried for your eating pleasure 2. Aubergine. Deep fried. You can never have enough Aubergine according to Kyoto :) 3. Octopus ... Not bad actually. But tasted rat...
