I had decided to return to Chile, but when at the foot of the pass road, the border official told me, that the border is closed now -at 5:30 pm. I was half hour late and hence in a bad mood: I had no intentions to spend the night in the not very attractive border town, so I chose to head to Barreal just 100 km north.
