After reading my last blog in disbelief, I apologise! I'm gonna try and keep this short and sweet...
Spent the last few days on a tour at Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world, and full of natural wonders...streams that make no noise as there are no rocks! Sand dunes that spread all around you, surrounded by green forest in the distance...We swam in the Champagne Pools, with water bubbling over the surface like a jacuzzi, climbed Indian Head and spotted a real shark attack (on a sea creature!), dolphins jumping through the waves and a few turtels too. It was very relaxing, swimming in lakes everyday, spacing out on the beaches...Nice!
If ever you are in Queensland though, you have to sail around the Whitsunday Islands!!! I spent three days and nights sharing an underdeck cabin with 27 other people on a boat 25m long! By day we cruised over the waves, the sun warming us up, with the wind in our sails, watching the blue sky meeting the blue sea and nothing else around for miles. Every now and then we'd jump in with the fishes in the Great Barrier Reef! The beautiful, colourful coral was right beneath me and I had fish coming so close I choked with shock the first time! We saw eels, harmless sharks, and even huge schools of fish, shimmering in the light like a wall beneath the surface of the water. Those moments just filled me with awe and wonder and I can't wait to go back. By night we'd sit following the star constellations in the sky, watching the bright moon rise higher and higher, just taking in every moment. Sweet!
I can't leave Australia! There's so much more to see and do, but I don't have the resources if I'm gonna finish my round trip!...so I just have to enjoy my last bit of a sunshine, sea and sand for now until next time...
