Well Martin arrived and we were glad to see the old guy. we got up early and made our way by tube to Termini where we had reservations on the train to NApoli. It was really funny a sweeper cart caught fire in Termini- smoke everywhere. Train left on time as is usual in Europe and we had an uneventful journey to NApoli. Things then changed- oh my God this palce has 5 million people living in it and there are cars people, buses and pollution everywhere. We managed to squeeze on to a port bus after a very rude Italian man shouting at me, Paddy manged to get a seat and we piled all of our backpacks on him- whaich gave him a dea leg, and off we went , an hour later we got to the port- filthyu palce full of huge and I mean huge cruise ships and people. Found our little ferry to Ischia and on we hopped. The journey took about an hor and a half and we came to a dear little port in Ischia. It was really very Italian and we caught a little taxi to our hotel. He was really funny he had to open the trunk and strap all of our luggage in then he wound his way up all of these hills to the other side of the island. We arrived to this stunning thermal spa hotel, all the pools-15 were fed by thermal water from volcanoes. We ahd a little villa that looked over the bay and the kids had a room next door. The food was crap, people were nice and the wine e xpensive. One night we decided to go down to the town, boy big mistake food really expensive 150 bucks for ravioli and coke! The view was nice all the big motor boats coming in for the evening. We caught the taxi that night back to the hotel as it was a steep walk. The kids and MArtin all enjoyed massages and Facials and Hatte had a pedicure. I just read , relaxed and swam. Sky was azure blue and clear. Then as all things do we had to leave to go back to Rome.
