Ometepe island, just a couple of hours from San Juan, is probably it's most stunning at sunset. Casa de Olas in San Juan del Sur has honestly treated me like one of their own family. It's amazing location and gorgeous people make it hard to feel anything but happy as you stare out over the infinity pool, bathing in rays, singing along to mellow tunes and laughing at each other's poor jokes. San Juan del Sur truly is a hard place to leave. I originally arrived here with three Aussie blokes who I bumped into outside a fully booked hostel on the evening that our bus finally arrived in Nicaragua. Returning to Playa del Carmen felt comforting, somewhere I knew, still filled with people I knew and a few new friends as well.
