After leaving Brisbane we spent about a week in Noosa. As Lauren's Uncle, Aunt and cousins live there we stayed with them. They have a lovely house, made us very welcome and showed us around some of the local sites. Noosa is a really beautiful place and I can imagine it's a really nice place to grow up. On the river and at the beach there is always a lot of boats, jet skis, canoes and surfers. One day Lauren's Uncle took us out on his jet ski. It was so much fun....

After 3 flights and a whole day and night of travelling we arrived in Brisbane in the early hours of the morning. We were exhausted. The flights were ok and Singapore Airlines provided lots of good films, but I got absolutely no sleep. After major interrogation and passing all the sniffer dogs in Brisbane Airport we found ourselves a taxi and made our way to our hostel. We intended to spend a few days in Koh Samui, however, due to really bad weather expected to carry on for the following few days we thought it better to hop over to Koh Phi Phi on the west side where the better weather was. We also found the Chaweng area where we were staying a little too commercialised and no longer felt that we were staying on an exotic Thai island. The impression I had of Koh Phangan was that I would hate it. I thought it would be way too touristy and I would want to leave as soon as possible. I was wrong. I loved Koh Phangan. We were so desperate to get to the Thai islands that we travelled 26 hours in order to do so. From Siem Reap we took a taxi to the border, we then crossed the border and got on a bus to Bangkok. As soon as we arrived we booked ourselves onto the night bus down to the ferry port. From the ferry port we took the morning boat accross to Koh Tao. It was worth it!
