While in Canada Donna took me and Lauren up to Whistler for a weekend along with Riley the dog. It is in Whistler and Vancouver that the 2010 winter Olympics are to be held. On the way we passed Shannon Falls and the Chief where some people were rock climbing. Whistler is a lovely place, a lovely little ski town. It was so pretty nestled amongst the snow topped mountains. There was a really nice atmosphere about it.
Donna really spoiled us that weekend and booked us into a really nice hotel. It was so nice after spending so much time in hostels. We had a big lunch and we got to try yam fries. They were delicious! We then took a wonder around. There were lots of really nice shops and lots of bars and restaurants. Me and Lauren went up the gondola to the top of Whistler Mountain. On the way up we spotted 2 bears! It was pretty exciting. I've never seen wild bears before. At the top of the mountain there were amazing views. It was so pretty. We took a walk around and saw lots of chipmunks.
Back at our hotel we used the outside hot tub. It was so nice to relax for a bit.
The following day we took a walk to Blackcomb where the Sunday market was on. We had a good look round it before leaving Whistler. Donna dropped us of at Horseshoe Bay where we were to get the ferry across to Vancouver Island.
