hello all
apologies for the late entry, got quite a few tales to tell. From ko pha ngan we went to ko samui. Well what a place, it was awful. The place we stayed in is the stuff of nightmares and was testing fayes gag reflexs. We had bed bugs and the toilet had a manual flushing system........foul! However we met a laydee boy called champagne who we played jenga with and rob eneded up playing ultimate jenga with all the thai bar laydies. A few buckets of gin and tonic later we were all pole dancing with the thais. Rob stole the show with his unique show to nirvana (or was it oasis??!!).
We quickly left for krabi where we spent one night. Decided to go on a long boat down the river to see some caves and a fish farm. we saw a puffer fish all blow up. Faye had a go at driving the boat...nevermind cars shes on to bigger and better forms of transport!!!
After leaving krabi we went to ko phi phi. This was one of the places the tsuanmi hit in 2004. The first day there we went on a snorkelling trip...that was awesome. However me and faye being virgins to the whole snrkelling experience didnt realise that you have to put your snorkel on before jumping off the boat. Eventually got the hang of it and its was really amazing. One of the islands we saw was were the film 'the beach' was shot. The first two nights we stayed on long beach up in the hills.....what a trek to get up there! One night woke up in the middle of the night because faye felt a rat run past her head!!!! Needless to say we didnt stay there after that! Rob left us to go to malaysia and we decided to stay in phi phi a few more nights. We had a few mad nights out followed by lazy days in the sun. Saw some thai boxing....however the tourists having a go at the boxing and trying to knock each other out was alot more entertaining ( what people will do for a bucket of thai whiskey!!)
Went to ko lanta for a few days and we stayed near a place called the funky fish. This is where all the backpackers head. It was really chilled out. We decided to hire mopeds to get round the island. It was the funniest experience so far....we were the only people on the island wearing helmets! We went jungle trekking, elephant trekking and cave walking. Then spent the next few days getting over the traumatic experience and the aching muscles! Went to a reggae festival and saw traditional thai music and dancing. There was a bob tribute band who were doing random covers of the stones and the doors reggae stylee...very weird.
Next we headed over to ao nang. This was a livelier resort. We got smashed with a load of german blokes on cocktails. Ended up skinny dipping in the sea at four in the morning. Thought it was a great idea until we realised that they were kicking us out of our room at ten the next day! Found a cell room to stay in for the day to recover then went back to krabi.
This is the end of our thailand adventure as we are moving down into malaysia. We have an 18 hour bus journey to do to get there....gutted!!!! Hope everyone is ok
love faye and jess xxxxxxxx
