Hello We have now finished our time in NZ and have ended up in Christchurch. It has been so cold here that it was hailstoning and we have even slept with our fleeces on!! We met a few guys from Essex and spent 2 days with them and touring the city. We're really gutted to leave NZ as we've done so much here but can't wait to see some sun! Hello We arrived in Kaikoura after an 8 hour journey and tried to book ourselves into a hostel not realising that we walked into a private home!! Once we were settled we booked ourselves onto a whale watching trip. We saw 3 sperm whales, over 100 dusky dolphins and NZ fur seals. We travelled to Lake Tekapo as it is the gateway to Mount Cook. We took a short walk around the beautiful lake. The next day we hiked the Hooker Valley track of Mount Cook. Faye somehow managed to split her shorts on the way round and had to walk the whole way back exposed with a slight chill up her bum. It was pretty chilly next to the glaciers!!!

We spent easter weekend in the student city of Dunedin. We visited Lanarch Castle, this is the only castle in New Zealand, but it looked more like a manor house really. There is a strong scottish heritage in this city, and the grounds of the castle etc were stunning. We then took a four hour round walk to Baldwin Street. This is famous for being the steepest street in the world!!!

Hello All We went to Queenstown with Ellie and Leah, and met up with two scottish girls we met in oz called Mel and Sue. We all went out that night and had a great time but suffered the next day!
