En riktigt fin utsikt over graa Shanghai.
Hors snart igen! go natt
Ni hao!
I'm writing from the pearl of the orient, Shanghai! I spent a couple of days here already and wow what a city! I took the train from Hong Kong to Shanghai, a 21h journey. On the train I got a taste of what was to come in China, it's a different culture. For example it is okey to chew with a open mouth, make sounds while you eat, burb and fart when and where ever you want to and to blow your nose without paper in the middle of the street is also ok. They also have no respect for personal space, maybe not so strange after all, 1,3billion people...
The first thing that meet me outside the station was litteraly a wall of people once again, 1.3 billion people... You can also see and sense that it is still a comunist country wich is intresting. Everything is structured, always clean streets and a police man on almost every corner.
Shanghai is a very interesting city, always a grey fog over the city and now it's quite cold 5-10degrees. The city is a mixture of old europeen buildings and new hyper modern skyscrapers. I like this mixture of buildings. It's a giant city with some where around 20million people and the sky is always lit up of all the skyscrapers.
During my days here I have visited "the Bund" (search on google) wich is a must see in Shanghai. A panorama view of all the skyscrapers that rise up from Chinas economic heart. Then there was a rainy day that I realy didn't do anything special, just took the subway to a couple of places around Shanghai and walked around for a little bit and visited some shopping malls becouse Shanghai is Chinas shopping city nr.1.
Yesterday a visited the Shanghai museum wich was realy intresting. There was a lot of chinees history to see, from the first pottery/porclein vases to a collection of old kings furniture. The highlight of the visit was when a saw a coin with Alexander the great face on it wich they found along the "silk road" between Europe and Asia.
After this a visited the exhibition hall wich show the future of Shanghai and the answer is yes, more skyscrapers..
I got across the river to visit all these skyscrapers and the financial heartbeat of China called Pudong. I visited the "Pearl tower" wich is close to 400m high but I only got to 296m this time, the tower is formed like a couple of pearls.
Today I visited the Shanghai Finacial Tower wich is the highest tower in Asia! What a view from up there! Grey as far as the eye could see... No, it was amazing! I got to 474m up in the sky and it was a realy amazing view. Great fun!
Tomorrow I will visit some gardens outside Shanghai and after that I will take a nighttrain to Beijing. We will see how I can get to India from there becouse the chinees goverment has closed Tibet for foreigners the time I was planing to go there so we will see... I'll write from Beijing again! Take care! CAO
