We'd originally planned to only stay overnight in Vitoria, as we couldn't find anything exciting on offer there and we'd managed to find very cheap flights from there to Salvador (our next destination). However at the time booking the flights online something went wrong and the cheap flights vanished, so we were forced to delay it by a day. Not to worry, we were staying in the luxury of the Ibis Budget Hotel (one of the fancier accommodation spots thus far).

We arrived late from the train and asked the desk where a good spot to eat was. He showed us on the map and then told us to be careful, as there had been a free event on the beach and that meant we had to be careful of pickpockets on the streets. Nothing of it though, it all seemed reasonably safe and we found some cheap mexican.

The next day we took advantage of the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and had a long needed sleep in. Getting up in time for lunch we set off to another eating area, according to the map, and found a good little cafe. The meals were cheap and huge, so much so that Lindsay wasn't then willing to head across the road to Cafe Brigadeiro for an after lunch treat!

We walked after lunch down to the foreshore, which was quite pretty. There were also lots of beach side cafes/bars that people tried to coax us into, but there was no chance of that after our huge lunch. The weather was a little cold so we popped into a shopping centre. When we got out it was raining quite heavily, so we decide that was enough, time to head home, darting in and out of cover where we could find it along the way.

Heading out into the rain to find somewhere for dinner didn't sound like fun, so thanks to the help of the front desk we were able to order pizza delivery and ate that in our room. Ready for another early morning to head to the airport, for our now much preferred method of transport, to fly to Salvador.
