After returning to Santa Cruz we only had one night before we would fly to Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia. We had decided to fly, as the road to Sucre has a bad reputation and so do the bus drivers! Plus it wasn't much more expensive and it was going to save us about 10 hours of sitting around and doing nothing.
We arrived at the airport early so we could grab some breakfast before our flight, scheduled for around 10am. Once through security we noticed a lot of flights, all to Sucre, were showing as either delayed or cancelled. After a while the status of ours also changed to delayed (better than cancelled!).
Each hour they would make an announcement that the flight was rescheduled to 11am, then midday, then 1pm, etc, etc. We eventually did take off at around 4pm, but we never did find out what the cause of the issue was for all Sucre flights. With little to do or look at in Santa Cruz airport it was a rather boring day! So much for not sitting around and doing nothing.
