Ben & Zella's travels
We arrived in KL after a 5 hour long bus journey which weaved down from the Cameron Highlands. Fortunately we'd been warned about the descent from the highlands and both of us took travel sickness tablets as you were thrown from one side of the busa to the other. We arrived in KL and walked the 10 mins to our hostel which was in China town.
Our hotel the Swiss Inn was right in the heart of it. You walked out the back door and we were in the middle of the most hectic night market ever, which we visited in the evening. There weree 4 rows of stalls and the width in between them was about 1 meter. So compact and hot but great fun to barter and spot some bargains! In the day we baked by walking around the city to the petronas towers which were massive and around the KL tower. The first night i treated myself to my birthday present of a very gorgeous leather handbag.
We then had an early night chillin as the sickness tablets made us a bit weary, and i dont think the shopping and sightseeing helped.
On the second day we were picked up by lawrence out taxi tour driver who took us to a chocolate factory, Batik factory, Pewter factory, Waterfall, Caves, Hot springs, national monument, mosque, railway station and a chinese temple. We were out from 9:30 to 4 and were worn out by the end of the day.
Our last day in KL and it was my birthday*. It felt a bit strange waking up away from home but exciting at the same time. I woke up and opened my birthay cards (thankyou to everybody who sent me a birthday email or a card x x x) and then headed down for breakie. For the first time ever i spent my birthday in 2 countries. Morning in KL and the rest off the day in Singapore. Great way to turn 25!
