Made it. The first thing I did after being collected from the airport by my friend Bret was to head to the mall to try to find a prepaid sim for the iPad to tether my phone to and use the net. This wasn't very successful and it looks like I need to get a monthly plan and then cancel it. Still faaaaaar cheaper than the Telstra data rates so that looks like the plan. Well I'm off! Finally...managed to paypass a coke from a vending machine. I have no idea what it cost but I was thirsty, hot and in need of caffeine! I managed to exchange some $AU for $CAD and ended up with a crappy exchange rate and it feels like Monopoly money. I think I got a looney (their $1 coin and a two-nnie in the change!) it's so bizarre flying over the mountains in summer and there is snow on the top! I think I'll appreciate it more once I sleep! So we still 1399 miles from Vancouver having already flown 6550 miles. It's currently 2am right where I am and 9:30pm in Adelaide and Its 5am in Vancouver! I'm struggling to sleep with several babies on the flight that won't settle. This is where the mp3 aspect of the iPad comes in handy. I got quite excited that the entertainment system had game of thrones on it to watch so I could catch up but alas even at full volume I'm missing too much of the dialogue :( so ...

Well I'm off!! After a way too late evening and a way too early start I estimate I've had about 4 hours sleep. The flight to Sydney was delayed by 20 minutes due to gusty conditions and the landing was pretty turbulent! But I made it really smoothly through customs etc. the flight is REALLY full but thanks to Dan my friend the travel agent I got an aisle seat. I'm sitting next to some pleasant people so that's good. I'm scared I may fall asleep and snore! Lol

Well I haven't updated this in a whole because I've been a bit busy! Ive split this into two parts the hospital and the non-hospital adventures.
