Well I haven't updated this in a whole because I've been a bit busy! Ive split this into two parts the hospital and the non-hospital adventures. So here is part one: Made it back to Australia with minimal fuss. The guy that was wheeling me to the flight managed to bump my foot (yes the broken one) into the wall. Luckily it was my toes and didn't hurt at all but i was a bit worried for the rest of the trip! The flight to Vancouver was nice. It's a shame we landed at night and didn't get to see much. The airport was nice and Gillian at Vancouver was our golf cart driver. She was getting a bit stressed but we had fun and I managed to get another stamp in my passport. Because most of the airport was shut down for the night we had to go a funny way but she was on top of it! The flight to Sydney was great. Business Class Air Canada meant you got your own pod that turned into a lie flat bed. My biggest fear was going to the toilet on crutches but thankfully because it was so small there wasn't anywhere to fall. The flight attendants were lovely. The entertainment system kept me occupied too. I managed to watch the first episodes of the newsroom, smash and scandal, so now I have something to watch when I'm recuperating! Landing in Sydney there were 3 people on the flight that needed assistance, one going to Brisbane, one to perth and me to Adelaide. We ended up in a convoy and I was worried we were losing Brenton with the luggage but luckily he managed to keep up. The next drama was the bus between the domestic and the international terminals had broken down so they stopped screening people as there was nowhere for them to go! It wasn't too long a wait and again being on crutches let me jump the queue! However they didn't get me a wheelchair so it was a bit tiring getting around after the 15 hour flight. I did hear them say that due to school holidays they were expecting 25,000 people instead of the usual 5000! After a short stint at the QANTAS business lounge we were on our way to Adelaide. The flight attendants were fantastic. Very happy and it was a good flight. Except there was bad turbulence so we had to fly quite high to get past it do that slowed us down. There were 5 people that needed wheelchairs on the flight! Luckily that meant we got to get off first as we were at the front and quite agile. Nick Xenophon was on the plane and even he had to wait for us! Julie then picked us up and we got home safely!
