Hey guys,
I'm now in Melbourne which is South of Sydney but before I start telling you about what I've been up to here, I'll update you on my last couple of days in Sydney. I think the last time I wrote was on Sunday so we still had two days left there. We definately didn't exert ourselves too much in that time! On Monday we caught a ferry over to Manly which is about seven miles across from Sydney, the beach is much quieter than bondi was but the waves were MASSIVE!! We chilled out there for a bit, got squacked at by a few seagulls and ate ice cream before getting on the ferry back to Sydney again. On Tuesday we chilled out at the hostel, watched films, went for lunch...all very relaxing :)
Which brings me to Melbourne!! Wooo! This was exciting as it was our first move of many which made us feel like we had really started our adventure. We found some really cheap flights which is much better (and cheaper) than getting the coach...a 13hr journey was done in an hour and 10 minutes! We're staying in a part of Melbourne called St Kilda which is famous for its cafes and cake shops-the cakes are AMAZING!Our hostel here is really nice..we're staying at a "base" hostel again in an 8 bed dorm with en suite which sounds glam but its not...definately not awful though. The bar here is fab, just a flight of stairs away from our room! Our first full dayhere was spent on the beach, it was very windy though....sand was flying everywhere and by the time we came back to the hostel, sand was in our ears, hair and stuck all over our suncreamed bodies...we were very exfoliated on the upside though! We then had our first proper night out...oh dear....free champagne was on at the bar for ladies night between 9 and 11 and I can hand on heart say we made the most of it! Today was a struggle to begin with! However I soon got over the hangover as we were going on the neighbours tour!! I think this was the bit we were most excited about in Melbourne (sad but true) and it definatey lived up to our expectations. We met Fletch (new bessie mate) aka Dr Kennedy (pics on facebook) and he was lovely. He said my name was beautiful :) haha.
That brings me to now-we've just been and had mexican for our dinner and are having a quite one tonight as we're going into the city tomorrow for sightseeing and then meeting with some people Sj met in Fiji for dinner. Sunday we move on again...we fly to Newcastle which is just North of Sydney and from there we'll be starting our greyhound coach bit.
Hope all is well with you all,
lots of love xxxxxxx
