Friday's fun-filled frolics!!
So it`s our last day in South America :-( 3 months has flown by, I can`t believe it. We`ve had such an amazing time here and met so many fantastic people - I`m definitely coming back at some point in the future! It`ll be sad to go but we`re also looking forward to seeing the rest of the world!
We fly to New Zealand tonight (Saturday) and arrive on Monday bizzarely enough....Looking forward to doing loads of activities and getting some exercise (I need to work off all that steak!) It`s going to be flab!
So I met up with the boy Davide yesterday in Santiago after a 20 hour bus journey from Buenos Aires. I stupidly was not prepared for the significant change in temperature once we crossed the border into Chile. I went through the border control in my flip flops while everyone else was wearing huge winter jackets! Even the sniffer dog had a little coat on! By the time I got back on the bus, my feet had turned blue (I`m not joking). Still, coming over the snow capped Andes in the early morning was a sight to remember....as you can see from the photos it was really beautiful.
Unfortunately my last day in Buenos Aires was not the best I`ve had on this trip - my skydive was cancelled after I had withdrawn alot of Argentinian pesos to pay for it (not useful on the day I was leaving for Chile!). Then I realised that the laundrette where my clothes had been washed was closed all day and there was no way of getting them back before my bus left that afternoon. So annoyingly I lost the majority of my clothes that day.
With a fair amount of Argentinian cash in my wallet and no clothes to my name, the only sensible conclusion I could reach was to go shopping!! Not that I wanted to you understand, it was out of necessity....my day did improve though with a bit of retail therapy!
So now we`re going to explore Santiago a bit more before we catch our flight tonight...unfortunately alot of places have been closed due to the Easter holidays but it`s still a great city to wander around in - nice architecture, and the Andes can be seen surrounding the city which makes for a pretty picture.
So amigos, check out the pics and let me know how you`re all doing!
Till next time....xxx
