FARFRUMWURKEN
As I lay here in the room working on the blog and pictures, I hear so many different animal sounds than I'm used to. I hear White-throated Treecreepers, Golden Whistlers, New Holland Honeyeaters, Magpie-lark (Peewee), Red Wattlebirds, and likely many more.
We set out about 9:30 and headed towards West Head in the Northern Beaches. We wanted to take the 20km road from Illawong Bay in the south that heads up West Head and Resolute Beach. There's a magnificent overlook there that offers views as far as the eye can see. We had great views of Pinwater, across the ocean, up the Hawksbury River, across to Brisbane Water and Lion Island and Palm Beach.
From there we circled around and headed over to the more exclusive area of Palm Beach for lunch made of some great sandwiches with Turkish flat bread. We've had an amazing two days of tours from the HAIR Travel Agency. They have shown us much more than we would have dreamed possible in our two days stay with them.
We're scheduled to fly out tomorrow morning from the Sydney International Airport at 08:30 - apparently we're about 50 minutes away by car and we need to be there 2 hours prior to take-off so we need to leave about 5:30 a.m. We really hate to be such a pain for Ian & Wendy, but we will/would certainly reciprocate during their next return to Vancouver. Sydney has been a great stay for us, we've loved everything we seen, eaten and experienced here down under. It may have taken me 62 years for the first visit, but hopefully we'll return quickly for a more in-depth review of this amazing country.
I would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to two amazing people for opening their home and treating us with such hospitality. You are very special people.
Next stop - Hong Kong
