We had an eventful day today. We started the day by visiting the Eiffel Tower. We had plenty of time to see it as a security scare left us stranded at the base for about 2 hours. The howling winds and the cold as well as the drops of rain the tower itself made the wait really fun. Found some spherical bollards outside the shop where we had ice-creams after dinner - the perfect spot for some statues!! All fabulous in this beautiful and quaint little town.

Albert is a lovely little town 30 minutes from Amiens, where our accommodation is for the next 6 nights. We arrived at the Poppies School Hotel just after 4pm. After settling in we walked to dinner, enjoyed our meal, (including the students loving doing the Binga Table Grace before the meal), followed by a walk home via the ice-cream shop. After a lovely drive in lighter traffic on a Saturday morning we arrived in Amiens by 11.15 am. We walked through the town, heading for the cathedral, also called Notre Dame. It actually has more floor space and is higher than the Paris one. We will be attending mass there tomorrow (Sunday) morning. While walking home from dinner, we came across this music school of a well known trumpeter. Mr H gave us a lesson on this famous musician, who no one else had ever heard of. Any way it made a nice photo opportunity in Albert.
