Quick blog as it is 630 and we breakfast soon before long ride to the erg Chebbi for our romantic night in the desert with the camels. Will fill you in on the fes experience tomorrow, but to whet your appetites narrow thronged alleys, make way for the donkey!; want to buy a carpet? Or this one? This one? This one? This one? ; Listen to me! These are your four course lunch options. No we don't serve soup! Welcome to the tannery, and here's some mint leaves. It won't stop the stink but it will be mint-flavored stink!
Actually we had a really interesting time with a very informative guide Khalid (pronounced by clearing your throat then "halid") who was with us for most of the day. The medina has functioned as a town since the ninth century with minimal change hence no cars allowed inside the old town where we were, only foot and donkey. Even the donkeys have inns here - the original motel!!
Ok better go and get ready now for our ride. Already got my Lawrence clothes ready!

Patricia & Andre Jim, Lawrence of Arabia was a great movie (only because you mention it: didn't know it was you). How are you carting your luggage back, you're only half way your trip? Sooooo much to see and buy.
