Day 7 leaving Bali. Some woke up slower than others due to big night out at the wedding and much dancing (jeannie threw her hip out on the dance floor - either the Limbo or the Musical Chairs Brawl). Flight to Singapore on Air Asia. Two cars to airport - one got a flat tyre but still made it faster than the one that did a grand tour of the new underpass. Next stop Singapore!
Arrived Singapore 4pm, long immigration queues. Into the Carlton Hotel on Bras Brasah opposite Raffles. Couldn't wait to get outside and into Bugis Street Bazaar for a meal. Met andre and patricia's longtime Singapore family friends Stefan, Sharon and son Sean who came around with us to Bugis and then Raffles City. second meal of the night with andre, Patricia and Stefan and family - Fried Kway Teow. Don't know what was in it but best eaten hot as it began to congeal. Singapore hazy but not as bad as last few days with the Indonesian forest clearing. Tomorrow full day touring Singapore. d*** hasn't been here since 1973 when he came as a sailor. Unfortunately Dick, Bugis Street is now enclosed and airconditioned so you won't be lighting a newspaper wedged between your buttocks in a re-creation of the legendary Dance of the Flaming a*******.
