Disclaimer - lots of detail for work!
21 hours door to door and we are finally in our hotel room :)
Everything went very smoothly and we even had time for a game on the flight of what has more calories the salted caramel pot provided by BA, a crunchie or a snickers?! Not forgetting the Wagamama's for lunch at T5.
The flight was just under 11hrs to Bangkok and we were a little unsure if our bags would arrive with us in Cambodia as the BA chap didnt fill us with confidence but ta da they were on the carousel at the other end. I entertained myself watching Aloha and graham norton and Beauts watched a child docu she had downloaded from iplayer - the BA choices were just not making the grade!
The connection in Bangkok was fine we had 2 hrs to go through flight transfers and had to walk half a mile, past more shops than I had ever seen before, and then we got the Bangkok airways flight, which was only 40 mins. During the flight we had to eat a meal and fill out 3 visa forms it was tight! Siem Reap airport was v small and the visa process took a while involving 3 desks but after paying 30 dollars and handing over a passport photo we were good to go, to be met by a quiet driver who took us to the hotel about 30 mins away :) http://www.viroth-hotel.com/
And here we are now!
3hrs later we have woken up feeling dazed and confused! However, we have both agreed a $2 tiger from the mini bar is what we need. So having organised a take out breakfast for our 5am sunrise at Ankor Wat tomorrow its dinner in the hotel then sleep! Neither of us are feeling brave enough to face Cambodia at sun down and tired, we have two more nights for that.
