Rightgot a bit of time spared now so hopefullywillbe able to update the blog and at least finish the asia section of my trip!
Sam and I had planned to go to the Water park in Melaka on our last day there but we were kept awake all night by the loudest thunder storm ive ever heard and it was still grey and wet in the morning so we decided to head down to singapore a day earlier. The bus journey across the border was relatively pain free and the hardest part of the journey was trying to find a taxi to take us the last few miles to our hostel. The hostel we stayed at was really nice and friendly and was close to a subway stop so we were prety happywith that. We got there quite late on our firstday so just relaxed and had a walk around where we were staying beofre gettin an early night. The next day we went out and had a little tour around some of the markets so we could try and pick up some souveniers for you lucky people at home! After a dayof shopping thenext day was dedicated to the singapore zoo and night safari! It was a really good zoo to walk around as they havealot of free roaming areas wherethe animals are free to walk around wherethe visitors are! We also got to feed so carrot sticksto a giraffe beforeitook part in a showwith a sealion which involved trying to throw a frisbee to it. I ended up being pretty bad and also nearly decapitating an unlucky pelican! After we wefinished with the zoo we headed over to thenight safari where we boarded a little train that took us around a different park and allowed us to view animals at night in their natural environment! It ended up being like going toa zoo but trying to see animalsin the dark but it was still funto do. Our lastday in singapore was spent trying to pick upsome clothes o that i would be able to handle the cold weather in new zealand and seeing the sights of singapore. After that we headed to the airport so Sam could fly home and i could head on to the next section of my travels in New Zealand.
After a long plane ride (sitting next to a gigantic austrlian netball player who seemed very squashed) i eventually arrived in Christchurch andset about finding Paul from university as we had arrangedto meet up. Luck seemed to shining on us as i Saw Paul and Stu packing up their car in a car park next to a hostel just before they were about to leave for Queenstown. they alreayd had booked accomodation there but i threw my bag in with them and we headed off. It was quite late when we left so we didnthave time to make it all the way to queenstown that night so we ended up having to sleep in the car in a place called cromwell. After the heat of singapore sleepiong in a car in freezing temperatures was definately something different!
