The weather has finally been kind to us just in time for a spectacular ride from Split, passed Dubrovnik and then to Cavtat. Our ride to Split did not go the way we had planned. We wanted to ride along the coast to take advantage of the great views we had been told about. We started off on the coast but by the time we got to Sibinek the wind was so strong that Greg could barely keep the bike on the road so we turned inland and got on the motorway - much better. We found our apartment up a little cobbled street about a 10 minute walk from both the Riva (water) and the Old Town of Split....

Today was the day we would finally get to Croatia! On leaving Villach we retraced part of the same route we had ridden the day before during our ride through the Julian Alps and the Slovenian countryside. During our morning tea stop we discovered we should have a vignette for Slovenia to ride on the motorways.
