So London was great. In the last couple days I got a chance to finish up seeing the sights and go to dinner with an old friend from Cape Town. It was great. Dinner with Tom was a blast. It was so nice to have a break from being a tourist and seeing the city. We went out for a beer and a sausage and caught up on life. He is really doing well and was a great person to talk to about traveling as he has done so much. After dinner we went to a wine bar that was one of the cooliest things I saw in London.
So you walk down the street and just turn into this unmarked door that leads down the stairs. If no one had told you what it was or where to go you would probably think it was a service entrance. So as you go down the stairs you walk down into what can only be described as an old wine cellar. The place looks like a midevil basement with arched stone walkways and very little light. It was totally packed and it was awesome. So we had a glass of wine and said our good byes.
The next day I looked at a few things but one surprised me. I walked down to Buckingham Palace expecting to take a couple pictures and was totally shocked to find it was open inside! It was the last day guest were allowed in for the next 10 months! So of course I bought the ticket and went inside.
This place is nuts. I really can not begin to describe what it was. Every room was just gorgeous! It was awesome to go inside and a total surprise.
So my trip to London came to an end and it was time to go back to Germany to meet up with Bodo and Elena. So yesterday I caught a flight that was way to early and then took the train from Duesseldorf to Koblenz to see Bodo. Last night we saw a soccer game and I went to his apartment while he went to his girlfriends. I stayed up for quite a while chatting with a group of people who were over at the apartment and then finally went to bed around 2. It had been almost a 20 hour day, I was tired.
Today Elena arrived. It was awesome to go pick her up at the train station. It really felt like Koblenz was home at that moment and I was meeting a good friend from another city. It was awesome. So tonight we have a big party to go to. It is a roomate and good friend of Bodos birthday as well as the celebration of him moving in. As I learned a while a go the Germans really know how to party so it is 8 and we have not started yet, it will be a long night.
Well I am off to hangout with Bodo and Elena before the party. I thought I would take the chance to update this before I got to lost in what I have done, so here you go! In a couple days we are off to holland to see Eva. This should be great. I will try to update it when I am there.
