At around 5-6 in the morning, we awoke on the Harry Potter night bus to find ourselves in Sapa safely. We had had a relatively good nights sleep despite being on a rocky bus and were ready for the day.
We got off the bus to find a swarm of black cladded women around us, who we discovered were ethnic minority Vietnamese, who proceeded to follow us until we said we had no money and we weren't interested. We managed to get into a cafe around 7 and had breakfast, read books to wake ourselves up a bit and then got into a taxi to make our 30 minute journey to our village homestay.
It's safe to say, there's no words to describe how amazing the homestay was and how welcoming the family were. We decided to have a really relaxing day as it was fairly sunny and there were amazing hammocks strung up around the veranda of the homestay for us to chill in. The little girl My was absolutely adorable and spent a good half hour pouring sun cream on our legs and rubbing it in. She was too cute.
We went to the local bamboo bar for a quick drink and then we returned to the homestay for the family meal which was a proper spread and so yummy! We then continued our laziness and went to bed early, tucking ourselves into our open plan dorm with mosquito nets.
