We woke up to another day in our hut without any more spider episodes. We had some discussions about hiring mopeds to travel around Pai on as we initially thought that was the best way to do it. However, after visiting one of the tour centres, we found a really reasonable tour that went to all the best bits of Pai and who would put on a private tour for us as we missed the start of it. The guys decided to hire mopeds whilst me and the girls decided on the tour.
First stop was a waterfall that was better than the one on the trek. We stripped off and got in but swiftly got out when the girls spotted a giant water spider on my leg that wouldn't leave even when being batted away. Drying off we got back into the truck and went to see a temple and a Chinese village. For some reason spiders were following us in Pai as we had a seat in a Chinese tea shop and encountered yet another giant spider. After a very nervously drank tea and a forced purchase from the lady we we were finally back on the bus. We stopped at both a restaurant for lunch and then a coffee shop where we all gladly purchased some yummy cheesecake. We skipped the strawberry farm and made our way to a treehouse and a place where we ordered an ice cream. We decided that it was too hot to visit the hot springs where we would have to shell out more money so managed to translate to the guy that we wanted to move onto the elephant camp. Sadly this wasn't very good as the elephants were yet again in chains and it didn't feel very 'sanctuary' like. 5 mins later we were back in the truck, slowly losing enthusiasm for the tour due to the heat. Luckily at the last stop, which was a beautiful temple with a Buddha statue, we bumped into the boys and decided to try out the outdoor pool next to our hut. This was a very popular decision so we were able to spend a very relaxed few hours of our evening there dipping in and out of the pool.
We then decided to have street food in Pai that evening where I decided on getting lots of little titbits for only a few baht each. I had a yummy cheesy toastie, a sweet corn cob and a dragon fruit smoothie. We then went to a bar and had a mojito and called it a night after spending half an hour in a weed central, hippy bar.
After a last evening in our lovely, spider infested hut, we were then back to Chiang Mai for our connection to Laos.
