Botswana-Chobe
Whilst in Botswana we visited Chobe National Park, the park itself is lovely, very different to the other safari drives we have done. Our guide was rubbish, he wouldn't talk to anyone but we found the whole thing quite entertaining. It was a very bumpy ride and we didn't have much in the way of suspension at one point we all (Jo, Jenny, John, me, Mark and Sam) went flying in the air and I landed on the floor, the bumps just cracked us up. I don't think we will ever complain about the roads in England when we return though! It was quite a lucky day as we got well close to a couple of prides of lions, we had to remind ourselves that we weren't allowed to get out and walk with these ones though! We saw the usual giraffes, zebras, antelopes but our favourite spot of the day was a baby hippo- he was well cute, see the pics.
That evening we went for a cruise on the river in the Chobe, it was lovely we all took drink with us and everyone got pretty merry. The driver let London Jenny drive the boat which was funny especially as she was plastered. We saw lots of hippos (again) and the biggest herd of elephants came running into the water, there must have been over 30 and there was lots of mini ele's too! Then we had home/truck made burgers, coleslaw and mash for tea... very nice!
