Erica's Travels
After four months of touring SE Asia we have finally arrived back in civilisation....normal food...English speaking etc etc etc.
Have to say it was much needed....no more rice....yipeeeeee
We flew into Perth on the 16th January (originally it was the 14th but they delayed our flight and we got put in a nice 5 star hotel in Bali...of course it is to be expected!
Right back to Perth...
Its a lovely city...very clean...the people are lovely...it almost seems unreal coming from SE Asia over a long period of time and then entering a place like Perth.
They seem to have it all here...nice weather (not humid either) space, lovely beachs (more beautiful than Asia really...and cleaner) loads to do and see!!!!! Really do recommend Australia as a holiday destination.
Anyway after being in Perth for a few days we then rented a car and travelled up the West Coast via the coastal hightway....hmm interesting! You see a lot of dead kangeroos and emu's as the stupid animals jump out in from the trucks during the night....ahhh poor skippy!
When you stop at a town for the night or just for petrol its like walking into a ghost town...ahhhh where is everyone???? Good question cause I still don't know!
Every town has a lovely beach, fantastic views...oh and everything shuts early...no shops open after 6pm and nothing open on a Sunday!!!
When travelling up we stopped of at Kalbarri, Shark Bay / Monkey Mia etc.
In total we drove around 2000k there and 1200 coming back as we drove straight back without any touristy stops. Its a long drive but enjoyable.
They have loads of National Parks here, and basically camping facilities everwhere.
On the 29th we pick up our campervan and travel on the southcoast the then up to Alice Springs and then across to Brisbane....can't wait!
Tomorrow we are diving so really looking foward to that...lets hope i don't see any sharks...haaa haaa!
Anyway going to go now and will update site again sooooon!
