We have a couple nights at the coastal city of Progreso. Again our hotel has a balcony and overlooks the beach on a quiet side street with a good choice of restaurants nearby.

Next day I go across to the huge beach for a swim to try out my new mask and snorkel in the sea. A bit leaky but wasn't expecting a Jacques Cousteau experience for £3 so not too surprised.

Later in the day while Elaine was waiting for me to have a haircut, she decided that she would have hers done too at the same place. Boldly in a combination of broken Spanish and complex hand gestures the latter mainly comprising of two fingers making scissors movements, and explaining 3 inches would need to be cut off, the chosen style is explained and a short while later the deed is done and we are both very pleased with the finished result. All for less about £5 ....an absolute bargain. We head out in the evening to an Indian restaurant a few blocks along....looking forward to this as it will be first Indian meal in 4 months and it didn't disappoint....just proves Mexican chefs can add flavours to food after all....
