Ems and Steve Travelling
Hello,
Well, we left Langkawi and Malaysia on 27th Auguat getting a ferry from the island to Satun in Thailand - we were told and ha therefore planned our journey by use of a bus from Satun - only the problem was that the stupid ferry left 30 mins late and we therefore missed the bus by about 10 mins - there was a 45 min differnce but with passprt control we originally had no chance.
NB:- To any travellers - all Ferries leave late and so do not plan your travelling without plenty of time to change transport methods.
Anyway, we were in Thailand and got the next bus which was only about only actually about an hour and a half later. Time which we actually spenton the internet completing this very journal and lookingup train timetanle sand accomadation. The bus was nice with a couple exceptions:
1) they played Thai music on te bus extremely loudly, and when we asked the ticket lady if she could turn the volume down we got - "No". You may be thinking that this isn't too bad but let me assure that when on a 4 hour bus journey accompaied by a thai lady singing along behind you it gets quite irratating.
2) the bus had air con - now this was a good thing - without it we would've bee roasting (literally), but it was freezing cold Em and many others and to go down to their main luggage to get jumpers. And to make this worse towards the end of the trip water began to condense all around the air con fans continuously dripped on most of the seats or people if people were sitting there.
We're not moaning (well Steve is a little but that's what he's like), but it was annoying to say the least.
So, we arrived in Krabi and Em carried the two small bags and lead to way tpo find a taxi while Steve carried the two big bags lagging behind - at this point it was also raining and Steve had to walk around all thepuddles as to not get Ems new bag wet at the bottom. We were quickly in a taxi, a price of 200TB was agreed (about 3 pounds), cheao we thought gkad to be soon to our hotel and a bit more relaxation.
But then the driver turned up with is minivan. This "thing" was falling apart all over the place - the driver had to hold the side door up as he opened it otherwise it just didn't work - then the boot door wouldn't close - then we noticed that there was a hole in the side window that had black bags tapped to it - when Steve got out he noticed that the seat was no longer attached to the floor, so it wasa good job we didn't need to do an emergeny stop. Also, we figured that out hotel must have been nice as a young women and son came along for thwe ride just to see the hotel - it must have been good!
The was very nice, it was a shame that it was raining and we couldn't see more of the grounds, and as we wee only staying the one night we would have no chance to check it out tomorrow either.
Speak soon
