The last blog was about me arriving at the camp and receiving fly bites as a welcoming gift! Haha anyway moving on, Sunday & today (Monday) was very hectic and some other people arrived late and the Americans seems very friendly! Sunday, we all literally had training about dining hall & information also some ice breaker games! I was really knackered & decided to go to bed early! We had a little camp fire with all doing camp songs which I never knew about lol! Very traditional for Americans & I thought we got some s'mores for the fire but no one brought them yet (wails!)
Monday: We were given a schedule of this week & it's all about the training! For e.g.: 8am Breakfast. 9.10am talent show rehearsal 10.30am introduction about disability 11.30am lunch (early right?!) 12.30pm games ... Etc. I was relieved to have that cos I did miss out some things like to wear color top for the named teams, it was informed verbally instead of on paper. So I had to ask someone to clarify & they did thankfully.
We did played the game called 'Kick ball' - same version for baseball, but you have to kick it instead of using the bat.. But the ball is bigger and softier! Before we started the game, guess what?? Clumsy Emmila is back, as I slipped on the porch and one girl called Elizabeth, she grabbed me to save me but accidentally scratched me which resulted a long cut on my arm which is like OW... Same pain as the paper cut!! (I am not joking!!). Haha!
The people at the camp are nice but I think some of them don't realise that I am deaf. So hopefully tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll give out some DA out to all and how to communicate effectively with me and of course some sign languages! After all it was pretty tiring and now it's 10.15pm & I'm off to sleep now! Good night to you all from here!
