So, this is what having itchy feet feels like. At this point I would expect my friends to insert a typical remark about a) how large my feet are b) they're surprised I can walk or c) something about how the amount of foot cream I use could drown a 3rd world country.

However, ignoring such abuse and rising above it without any form of comeback (they're really not that big!), my itchy feet actually relate to my need to flee this dull country and escape to an exotic paradise on the other side of the world. To spend my days lazing on spectacular beaches, eating wonderful food, exploring magical new places and experiencing a whole new lifestyle, ah what bliss. This certainly explains how easy it was for me to pack up my boring career and pursue as many jobs as I can to fund this fantastic journey!

So my plan. Over the next 4 months, I will become a complete cheap bum. Total hippy style. No new clothes, no eating out at fancy restaurants, no booking day trips and minimal spending on nights out (I have to have some fun!) Those that know me will surely empathise with my difficult task ahead, so please take pity. I can no longer support the lifestyle of buying a new outfit for every social occasion, can no longer lavishly spend on fun activities, cinema trips or fund my baking mania and please if we are buying rounds, count me out - I'm in this for real!

And yes, on Come Dine with Me the other day there was an entire meal made out of skip food. I won't be joining such extremes just yet, but it is entirely possible to have just as much fun on a low budget. Right?

So along with my reckless money saving schemes and fruitless attempts to get the ultimate summer beach bod in exactly 4 months, this task, however optimistic I try to make it, is verging on the borderline of impossible. But good thoughts prevail! So what if I'm working 6 days a week, balancing 3 jobs, living out of a pit of moneyless doom and embracing frumpiness? I get to go on an amazing adventure in just a few months and I can't wait!
