After our tour of the South Island the next stop was a 3 week stay in Kaikoura where we cleaned in the Lazy Shag hostel for a couple of hours each morning. The second half of our South Island road trip kicked off in Blenheim and the Marlborough wine festival. This involved a day of sampling various different wines from the Marlborough region and eating lots of nice food too! Our recent travels have taken us on a grand tour of the South Island, leaving Greymouth on 29th January after our last day at work. Although sad to leave everyone at Grey Base Hospital and the blue box (home for the past few months) we were excited about the trip ahead... Happy 2010 people! Had ourselves a wee summer holiday for Christmas and flew up to Mount Maunganui for a couple of days. We spent Christmas Day on the beach in 25 degrees of sunshine with bright blue skies complete with santa hats, crackers, food, vino, cider and ipod speakers playing white christmas!!
