We all awoke early after a very rocky night and not much sleep. As the two Brits on the boat Liv and I immediately set up on deck, even though there were thick clouds in the sky, ready for tanning (aka cloudbathing). I got used to the rocking and it was actually pretty relaxing after a while, sailing through warm winds and sleeping on and off all morning.
It was so very strange being able to see nothing but the ocean for such a long period of time! The sea is so incredibly vast. Having nowhere else to go it was a great opportunity to get to know everybody else on the boat and we spent a lot of the day laughing and chatting. What an experience - sailing the Caribbean Sea between two countries and beginning my travels in Central America.
Just as dinner was served two storms hit us and the boat was swinging from side to side like crazy, leaving all of us on the boat trying desperately not to throw up! It was like being on a tilt table and as we all went to bed I felt so sorry for Jonathan and Luis who would have to see us through the night with three storms now at all angles rocking the boat. It stated to pour with rain and we could see lighting through the ceiling window of our cabin striking every 5 or 10 minutes or so! Surprisingly Liv and I went to bed with high spirits after crying with laughter about the silliest things and I managed to sleep so much better than the previous night despite the stormy seas!
