Have arrived safe and well into Bangkok after what seemed like 2 days on a plane. I am writing this in a very jet-lagged state having just woken up from an afternoon nap (I know, I should have waited until it was the 'proper' time to sleep but I just could not stay awake any longer)

I met Rosie and Roxane at the airport, 2 of the girls who are also doing the teaching placement with PoD and we took the scary ride into Bangkok in a lovely bright pink taxi. The accomodation we have is very nice, spacious with a view over a river and Jim Thompson's house.

Most of today has been spent trying to recover from the flight and settle into the accomodation, but we did manage to venture out into the big shopping centre which is just across the road from us to have a bit of a gander.

After waking up from my nap, I am feeling really homesick. But I guess that's to be expected. And there's been no food too spicey and no spiders yet so far so it's all looking good.

Now we're just awaiting the others in our group to arrive so that we can finally go to bed properly!
