After a good nights sleep and a bit of a lie in we got up and went Quadbiking!! :) We were a little apphrensive at first as it was a tad expensive, but soon found it to be well worth the money! We got picked up and went to the place (quad adventure) and had a safety brief on do's n donts. There we 4 others doing it with us; a young couple who were travelling for a year and the blokes parents who were visiting for his bday! Me and sean had a quad bike each and were given a mini driving test!, which just involved testing your skills and seeing if we could handle it. We were deemed ok and then we were allowed to set off once we had our feet wrapped in bags to protect them fro mud! We looked good! aha
Our tour guide took us out and we started into a rural area through rice paddies and all on dirt tracks. We could stop at any time for pictures and we could look around as much as possible.
Halfway through we were taken to and orphanage/school which was really really good to see! A boy of 14 came and introduced himself as Kosol and took us around the school. he explained that it was all through donations and they struggled with teachers so some older students taught lessons. The children are taught; english, japanese, chinese and computers. Whenever we went near a classroom the students would all stand and say, "Good afternoon vistor" in unison! They would then ask how we were and where from. They were all very sweet. Kosol told us the man who started it was ex military and had sharpnel in his leg, then continued telling us about the orphans. We made a donation but wish it could have been more!
About 2 minutes after leaving the school it started to chuck it down!! And i mean chuck it down!! We were soaked within seconds but then our guide gave us a rain mac which did help any further soaking! We then came across a temple over the river and stopped for some photos and had a drink and a chat with the rest of the group! which was nice as it was the first real time we had spoken to other travellers!
We carried on in the rain over all kind of terrain and even went through massive puddle! which i thought was guna come up over the quad! We arrived back after about 2 n half/ 3 hours which seemed too short in the end!
We were quite tired after this and had missed the time to go to the floating village so we just decided to have some dinner and a drink on pub street, which turned into quite a night when a guy and girl came and sat with us! They were from virginia (america) and australlia and we got chatting to them for a few hours.
Had a great day and we loved the quad adventure, it was loads of fun and we coulda gone again!
