Hi,
Cant remember where i blogged from last, think we had just left roturua. So we spent a few days in around wellington, went to the best museum ever, its huge and FREE!
Spent over half a day htere and you could (ricky would ) easily spend 2 days in there!
Then got the ferry over to south island, it goes through marlborough sound on the way to picton which was really pretty and the weather was great, we also had dolphins chasing the ferry, it was great!
Our first activity was in the amazing able tasman national park, we did a 3 day freedom kayak! It was lovely, saw a stingray, which was incredibly big and really fast, but the best bit was having the seal pups swim around our kayak. It was nice as it was only ricky and me and no big tour groups!
We camped for 3 nigths in the AT park so had to take everything we needed in the kayak which was fine! It was amazing apart from the SANDFLIES! but nevermind.
From there we went down to the glaciers, we went to both Franz Josef and Fox as the walks to the face were not too long, they are amazing and it was quite cold there. We also went to lake Matheson which supposedly gives great views of Mt Cook but not on cloudy days when we were there. But it was still lovely.
We then drove on to queenstown which was a lovely scenic drive in the southern alps, in nice weather. So we are now in Queenstown waiting for ricky to do the biggest bungy jump in NZ tomorrow morning. Then we will hopefully meet up with one of our friends Kay, who is over here showing her dad the sights, for st Paddys day 2moro!
Happy st Paddys day to everyone!
Emma and ricky xxx
